We recently hosted a fiesta in our backyard and these margaritas were a huge hit. I made two pitchers in advance and chilled them in the fridge. When guests arrived, we were ready. No one had to stand around waiting for a cocktail.
Tequila ( I like to use a premium silver tequila)
Simple Syrup (It’s easy to make your own.)
1.) Make the simple syrup. ( I like to make two pitchers of margaritas-so I use 4 cups of water and 4 cups of sugar, heated in a medium sauce pan until the sugar dissolves.) Let the simple syrup cool and store in the refrigerator. If you’re serving only one pitcher then cut this recipe in half, or use the extra simple syrup for other cocktails.
2.) Squeeze the juice of 12 limes- it’s a workout! depending on the size of the limes- this should be about 1 1/2 cups of juice.
3.) Craft the Pitcher: Pitcher’s vary in size so keep in mind this is about 48 ounces of margaritas.
2 cups of simple syrup
1 1/2 cups of lime juice
1 1/2 cups of tequila
1 cup of triple sec
Store this delicious concoction in fridge until guest arrive.
4.) Use extra limes to moisten rims for salt and garnish. (Hint: I also like to use Roses Sweetened Lime Juice to moisten rims and then dip them in salt.) Serve over ice.
