These bars are simply insane…. insanely delicious, insanely popular and insanely easy. We affectionately call these Jen Bars around here. After all, it was cousin Jennifer who started the entire family’s addiction and it has spread to everyone who has ever graced our lake home during a major holiday.
I told Jennifer these were too good to keep a secret and so she allowed me to share. A big thank you to Jennifer!!! After you try these incredible cookie bars you’ll be sending your thanks, too.
Okay, you’re probably thinking how easy could these be, really? There are only five simple ingredients and one bowl used. Yup, that easy. If you want to make it harder you could of course use your favorite homemade chocolate cookie dough, but sometimes let’s just go with what’s easy.
2- 30 ounce packages of chocolate chip cookie dough
3 cups of peanut butter (We like creamy.)
3 cups of powdered sugar
2 to 3 Tbs. of milk
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Spray a 9×13 dish with cookie spray. Layer the first tube of cookie dough in the bottom of the dish.
Mix the peanut butter and powdered sugar in a large bowl. This is the only real effort you’ll have to make. Use a little milk, if it needs to be thinned a bit.
Spoon the peanut butter mixture over the bottom layer of cookie dough, then press the mixture as evenly and smoothly as possible.
Crumble the final tube of cookie dough as evenly as possible over the top. It will cook down and form an even top.
Bake at 350 degrees for 40 minutes. Let the cookie bars cool for at least two hours before cutting.
Prepare for the stampede!
